Country: Taiwan
Application Site: Airport
An airport in Taiwan was built in the Japanese colonial period and used for military purposes. It has since been converted into a domestic and international airport for commercial and cargo flights.
Much of the airport's equipment, including surveillance systems and network switches, is outdated and needs to be upgraded. However, the renovation must be done without affecting incoming and outgoing travelers, existing surveillance architecture, and ongoing construction. The type of PoE switches required must have sufficient power for the surveillance system to capture images in real-time and quickly provide feedback on abnormal conditions. The project needs to meet the budget set by the client.
Using PLANET industrial switches made updating the existing network infrastructure a smooth process. The ongoing construction continued to operate and did not affect passengers. The devices also met the project budget while providing quality networking performance.
◆ Integration with Existing Airport Network Infrastructure
Multiple Industrial L2/L4 8-Port Gigabit + 2-Port Fiber Managed Switch (IGS-4215-8T2S) and Industrial L3 802.3bt PoE + 10G Fiber Managed Ethernet Switch (IGS-6325-8UP2S2X) were integrated with existing devices with ONVIF support and network infrastructure while network management improvements.
◆ Intelligently Monitor the Entire Network in the Airport
The switches feature Intelligent PoE Management that can perform PD alive checks and monitor PoE usage and scheduling to reduce power consumption and enhance sustainability.
◆ Powering IP Devices without the Need for External Power Supply
Up to sixteen IGS-6325-8UP2S2X are implemented to provide data and up to 95 watts for each port to wireless access points, IP cameras, digital displays, and more.
◆ Fast and Reliable Recovery System
All the switches utilize the ERPS Ring function to ensure fast network recovery.
