PLANET Receives '2019 Corporate Citizenship Awards’

PLANET Technology Corporation, a global leading IP-based networking company, has received the ‘Corporate Citizenship Awards’ from CommonWealth Magazine in Taiwan for the 13th consecutive year. PLANET attaches great importance to the CSR initiative, making sure whatever activity it brings will have a positive influence on the society as a whole. The company has been involved in the remedial teaching and psychological counseling for the disadvantaged children for the past 15 years, hoping to continue to use the company’s business operation model to further expand this benevolent venture. The company’s strong commitment to CSR sustainability is rare among the SMBs, so it has been profoundly recognized again as the model of corporate citizen in Taiwan.

PLANET has created a good corporate culture with a practical view. PLANET has conducted its CSR activities that are more related with the economic, social and environmental issues worldwide responding to the 17 SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) of the UN published in 2015. The company not only continues to strengthen the corporate governance in an attempt to maintain a good company structure, but also put gender equality, improvements of its employees’ careers and enhancement of their physical and psychological health into practice. In contributing to environmental sustainability, the company will keep developing energy-saving products under a complete Green Supply Chain. Besides, PLANET has launched smart IP-based power over Ethernet products for the enterprises, smart cities, and IoT and IIoT applications to increase the effectiveness of energy savings in the network.

In terms of social participation, PLANET has devoted to the remedial instruction and psychological care for the disadvantaged children who are slow learners or those with emotional or behavioral problems in the greater Taipei area since 2005.  Over the past 15 years, the company has helped more than 8,000 children to gain their confidence in learning by offering the tailor-made educational program along with the help of school teachers, community professionals, etc. To be part of this benevolent mission on a long-term basis, PLANET will continue to effectively expand the mission of improving the standard of living of household, school, and society as a whole.

The “Corporate Citizenship Awards” organized by CommonWealth Magazine is by far the largest CSR performance evaluation designed for Taiwan’s companies. It is up to international standards following those of the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises, Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes, and the UN 17 SDGs. To be eligible for this award, each company must continue to make profits for at least 3 consecutive years and outperform in the 4 main criteria: Corporate Governance, Corporate Commitment, Social Involvement, and Environmental Sustainability. Winning this award for the 13th straight year, it acknowledged PLANET, a CSR role model in Taiwan, has never ceased to optimize its business value and influence so as to help achieve a better society.
